Unit Price Calculator & Tax is a free iPhone shopping calculator. Enter the price and size of each pack and it converts everything to one basis (per kg, lb, L, fl oz or piece) and marks the best value. It also stacks discounts the way stores apply them, adds or removes sales tax and VAT, keeps a running cart total against a budget, and splits a bill with tip. Everything runs offline with no account. The free version shows a small banner; a one-time purchase removes it.

How to compare unit prices in the store
Shelf labels show price per 100 g on one product and per kg on the next, or nothing at all on multipacks. Here is the 20-second version.
- Pick the measureWeight, volume, pieces or length. The unit menu then only shows units that make sense (g, kg, oz, lb for weight; ml, L, fl oz, gal for volume).
- Enter each packPrice, amount and unit for A and B. For a multipack, set Packs to 6 and Amount to 330 ml. Add up to six options.
- Read the resultThe best value gets a green badge and every other option shows how many percent more it costs. Switch the basis (per kg, per 100 g, per lb) from the Show price per menu.
- Then check the dealJump to Discount to stack the shelf discount, the extra percent at the till and a coupon, with tax if your country adds it at checkout.

Questions this app answers
How do I calculate price per unit?
Divide the price by the amount, in a common unit. The app does the conversion: a 500 g pack at 4.49 is 8.98 per kg; a 1.2 lb pack at 4.99 is 9.17 per kg. The lower number is the better deal.
Is the bigger pack always cheaper?
Usually, but not always, and multipacks and promotions break the rule often enough to check. Enter both and the app shows the exact percent difference.
How much is 30% off plus an extra 10%?
Not 40%. The extra 10% applies to the already reduced price, so 100 becomes 70 and then 63: a 37% saving. The Discount tab shows each step.
How do I remove VAT from a price?
Divide by 1 plus the rate: 119 at 19% VAT is 100 net. Choose Remove tax, enter the amount and the rate.
Does it need internet or an account?
No. Every calculation runs on the phone and your lists are stored locally. The only network use is the small ad banner in the free version, which a one-time purchase removes.

Is the app free?
Yes. The free version shows a small banner at the bottom. Remove ads is a single one-time purchase; there is no subscription and no other in-app purchase.
Which units are supported?
Weight: mg, g, kg, oz, lb. Volume: ml, L, fl oz, cup, gal. Count: piece, pack, dozen. Length: cm, m, in, ft. You can mix metric and imperial in one comparison.
Can I change the unit the price is shown per?
Yes. Show price per lets you pick per kg, per 100 g, per lb, per L, per 100 ml, per fl oz, per gallon and so on.
Does it remember my tax rate?
Yes. Pin a rate as default from the Tax tab or set it in Settings; Discount and Cart use it automatically.
Which currency does it use?
Your device currency by default. You can pick another in Settings.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Calculations and lists never leave the phone. Without a connection, no ad is shown.
Which languages?
English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. The iPhone app ships first; an Android build is planned and this page will link to Google Play when it is live.
